Assembly directions

The kids know how to assemble the lunches; the most important job of the Friendly Adult Presence is to supervise the younger children so their parents can feel free to attend Meeting for Business.

1. Cover one table with a disposable tablecloth to use as a work surface for making sandwiches.

2. Assign at least two people to make 120 sandwiches.

3. Count out 60 paper bags and label each with the date and type of sandwich.

4. Assign younger children to lay the bags out in rows on the other tables.

5. Lay on top of each bag:
• Napkin
• Mayo, mustard and relish packages
• Snack
• Juice
• Water bottle
• Fruit
• 2 sandwiches

6. Fill each bag and put them into coolers or boxes.

Everyone must wear gloves; long hair must be tied back. Sandwich meat must not go unrefrigerated for more than an hour.

Transport
As quickly as possible, drive all of the above to the shelter. If necessary, park in the handicapped space while unloading. Carry everything into the kitchen where someone will help you unpack the coolers/boxes. The shelter is right next to the Reston library. 11975 Bowman Towne Drive
